Description
D.A.V. Public School, Sarabha Nagar Ext., Ludhiana came into existence in the year 2004. The school is being run by D.A.V. College Trust and Management Society, founded in 1885 by socially motivated people greatly influenced by the social reforms movement started by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. The first D.A.V. Institution was setup in Lahore in 1886 with Mahatama Hansraj as its Headmaster who dedicated his entire life to the cause of education. In the post-Independence times, the great dedication and determination of visionaries like Justice Meharchand Mahajan, Lala Suraj Bhan, Justice Jiwan Lal Kapur, Dr. G.L. Dutta and presently Padam Bhushan Shri Gyan Prakash Chopra has made Dayanand Anglo Vedic Trust and Management Society India’s largest educational body. Today the trust is running more than 700 schools and colleges in India and abroad.
