In the latter half of the 19th century, India lay in a socio-political ferment. At this crucial juncture, Maharishi Dayanand, one of the greatest thinkers of the timeformed the ARYA SAMAJ for the intellectual, emotional and spiritual revival of the Indian Society. With a clarion call of “ BACK TO THE VEDAS”, he wanted to build an erudite nation based on Vedic foundation and so was born the Dayanand Anglo Vedic schools.
Headquartered in Chennai, the Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society established its first DAV School in Gopalapuram, Chennai in 1970. Just like a banyan tree, spreading its root far and wide, the DAV Group of Schools have also spread far and wide, imbibing the vedic values and inspiring thousands of young Indians.
Located in a calm and serene environment, DAV Puducherry was established in 2017. It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and has classes upto Std III and total strength of about 200 students.
